Mick, a pilot & aircraft mechanic, manages the Welland airport in exchange for living space above a hangar. He is guardian of his 13-yo sister. He understands aircraft, but not so much raising a teen.

Dee-J just turned 13 and lives above an airport hangar while her friends live normal lives. But what is normal for a girl who loves to fly.

Jade was abandoned by her mother and was a foster child. She helps Mick with raising Dee-J, but Mick and Jade “parent“ very differently, making their friendship, interesting.

Delilah is compassionate and caring and Jade's college roommate. Her life adventures have been at the initiative of her controlling and needy friend Jade.
