The Wright Family Performing Arts and Entertainment Foundation acquired 13 Front St W. in Strathroy, Ontario in 2023. This property purchase, as part of the Wright family's vision, aims to provide a venue for local creatives to showcase their talents and foster the growth of the arts community in Strathroy-Caradoc.

The future of The Wright Place will contribute to building the vibrant art and culture scene the Wright family envisioned. The Foundation intends to invest in renovations to transform the space into a versatile arts and performance venue, offering an outstanding platform for local artists and attracting renowned performances to Strathroy.

2026 marks the start of major renovations to bring the future home of the arts to life!

The Board is moving forward with the renovations, designed by A-Link Architecture this year. The thoughtfully designed renovation will modernize and expand the space, enhancing accessibility, performance capabilities, and the overall audience experience. The transformation is set to position The Wright Place as a cornerstone venue in the region, attracting performers, audiences, and creative opportunities from across Southwestern Ontario and beyond.

Land  Acknowledgement

The Wright Place and the Wright Family Performance Arts & Entertainment Center Foundation operates on Anishinabewaki ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᐗᑭ, Attiwonderonk (Neutral), and Mississauga land. This land was part of the Longwoods Purchase, under Treaty #21. It was signed on March 9, 1819 by representatives of the Crown and certain Anishinaabe peoples.

The territory described in the written treaty covers approximately 220,000 hectares. The River Thames, which was called Askanessippi in Anishinaabemowin, meaning the “antlered river,” runs through this area.  We wish to express gratitude to the generations of Indigenous People across Turtle Island for the care and protection of the land we live and work on today. We recognize we are on the traditional territory of the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, the Munsee-Delaware First Nation, and the Oneida Nation of the Thames, all within the boundaries of Treaty #21.
