The Wright Family Performing Arts & Entertainment Centre Foundation Announces Launch of Renovation and $6 Million “Build It Wright” Capital Campaign
STRATHROY, ON, March 26, 2026 – The Wright Family Performing Arts & Entertainment Centre Foundation is proud to announce the official beginning of an exciting new chapter for The Wright Place, as renovation plans move from vision to reality. Designed by a+LiNK Architecture Inc., the transformative project will soon enter the construction phase, marking a major milestone for arts and culture in the region.
To support the $6 million renovation, the Foundation has launched the “Build It Wright” Capital Campaign, a community-wide fundraising effort that will help bring the reimagined Wright Place to life. Bolstered by the generous founding funds from Don Wright and Dr. Mary Wright, the Foundation is already well underway with the campaign and building strong momentum toward its fundraising goal.
Once complete, the revitalized facility will serve as a vibrant hub for arts, music, theatre, and entertainment, strengthening Strathroy-Caradoc’s cultural landscape for generations to come.

The thoughtfully designed renovation will modernize and expand the space, enhancing accessibility, performance capabilities, and the overall audience experience. The transformation is set to position The Wright Place as a cornerstone venue in the region, attracting performers, audiences, and creative opportunities from across Southwestern Ontario and beyond.
“This is a defining moment for our community,” said Keith Blackwell, Chairperson of the Foundation. “The Wright Place has already been a gathering space for creativity and connection. Through the Build It Wright campaign, we are investing in a future where arts and entertainment continue to thrive here at home. This renovation is about more than bricks and mortar, it’s about building opportunity, inspiring talent, and creating a space where memories are made.”

Mayor Colin Grantham of Strathroy-Caradoc also expressed strong support for the project. “The transformation of The Wright Place represents an important investment in our community’s future. A vibrant performing arts centre contributes to economic development, tourism, and community pride. We are excited to see construction begin and look forward to the positive impact this renewed space will have on residents and visitors alike.”
The Foundation is calling on residents, businesses, and community partners to join the Build It Wright campaign and help reach the $6 million fundraising goal. Contributions of all sizes will play a critical role in shaping a dynamic, inclusive venue that reflects the creativity and spirit of Strathroy-Caradoc.
Construction is expected to begin soon, with further updates to be shared as the project progresses.
