Tell us about your business/organization's journey - do you recall how you first discovered your interest and passion for your work?

I began teaching 34 years ago, and loved imparting music knowledge to students and watch them blossom on their own musical journey.

Tell us about your business/group. What services or products do you provide? What is your vision and what are your goals?

The Music Spot provides group and private lessons in a fun, safe, dynamic and inspiring way. We also offer Art Lessons!

What is the most challenging part of running your business/organization - and what’s the most rewarding?

I find hiring teachers challenging these days. Having to turn away students because we are fully booked is not something I enjoy doing. I, as well as all of The Music Spot teachers, find it incredibly rewarding to watch our students grow musically, and personally, and join bands - or even become teachers themselves!

Without music and art, communities would struggle to be connected.

How do you hope people feel or what do you hope they take away when they visit your business/organization?

A sense of welcoming, openness, belonging and support.

What role do you think small businesses or community groups, especially in the creative field, play in a community like ours?

Small businesses are pertinent to the creative thread of communities! Without music and art, communities would struggle to be connected. Music truly is the universal language.

What’s next for you—are there any upcoming projects, shows, events, or milestones you’re excited to share?
